Good Friday

For those of you who celebrate I hope you find yourself closer to God this Good Friday. I hope you stand in awe as I do at what was given to us this day. And what that means for our lives beyond our time on Earth.

Then he handed him over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus; and carrying the cross by himself, he went out to what is called The Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha (John 19:16-17).

I am celebrating today by living life to the fullest and meeting a sweet friend for linner (we're meeting at 3pm so we're having a lunch/dinner hybrid) and some girl time. We haven't shopped together since LAST Christmas. Far too long! She's one of those friends where we can pick up where we left off and it's like nothing has changed. We're still 21, living in the dorms, and have nothing more to do than spend the afternoon wandering our college town.

I so appreciate where I am now but some days it would be so nice to crawl back in to that former self and live some care free days. Where the biggest issue I had was a 10 page paper or a test to study for (not that those AREN'T big things).  And I could drop it all to go spend the afternoon by the river or walking around downtown.

My friend is so awesome and is currently training for the Avon 2 day Walk for Breast Cancer. Her site can be viewed here. Her mother has survived two battles with breast cancer and is an awesome lady if I do say so myself! I'm so glad I can support her. She asked me to join her for a full 18 mile practice walk tomorrow, haha. I'm going to go cheer her on, but man I can't go from one to two miles with the dogs to 18 in one day! She's been training for weeks now. I need some time to get there ;)

Breast Cancer...it killed my aunt. We do the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in October in Florida. idk about 2 days..

But..it's a great cause!

AND I love the phrasing you used of crawling back into the former life and living some carefree days. That's perfect. I'd like to just live a few carefree days without the downsides, ya know?

Anyway, I gave YOU an award, ma'am! http://mynewwifelife.blogspot.com/2012/04/versatile-blogger-leibster-award.html
