Valentine's Day

Three years ago I celebrated my first Valentine's Day with Matt. It feels simultaneously like it should be a shorter and longer amount of time.

I remember all of the years before I met him and how I was absolutely positive I was going to be alone forever. I didn't think I was cut out for dating much less marriage. I celebrated by sending my friends gifts but I secretly always wished I had my own Valentine.

And then I met Matt and the rest is history

I remember that he got me balloons (three!) that first Valentine's Day. He wrote me a poem and got me a sea glass necklace for my gifts. I remember sitting across from him and feeling like my heart was going to burst out of my chest with excitement.

I remember thinking that I had met the man I was going to marry but being scared to think it too much in case he wasn't thinking the same thing. (He was).

We had two Valentine's Day's between then and now. Those have been filled with flowers and Chocolate wine (yes it's as delicious as it sounds) and sweet cards.

This year though my card said Wife on the front. I'm not sure if seeing that or his sweet words made my heart flutter more.

I hope wherever you are in life you feel loved. By God, your family, friends, significant others. Someone in your life loves you. It's the perfect day to call your loved ones or friends and remind them you love them. Showing others love will make your heart happy.

Alright, I'm done being all sappy now! :)

In case you are wondering I did get the dog's a Valentine's Day gift. Oh, wait what? Not all dog Mom's do this? It's because I have a tendency to go a little crazy. But, they were SO cute with their little bones this morning. And showed me love with some puppy kisses and thumping tails :)

I will admit now that my love language is hallmark cards and gifts. Seeing other people (and dogs) happy makes my heart full. Which is the point of Valentine's Day, right? To spread the love!

This was a sweet post & I'm glad to hear about your happy Valentine's Day! :) It's one of my FAVORITE holidays.

To respond to your e-mail...oh girl, Nosh was amazing. The building is stunning - it felt like an old Plantation home or something. It was so chic, but still affordable. It was just the best meal I've had in a long time. Can't wait to go back! If you guys try it, please let me know! :) I'd love to hear what y'all thought about it!
