Neely and Amber's Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge Day 1

Day 1: Favorite Gift Received EVER
This is really hard for me. I feel like I get so excited about Christmas every year and I love everything everyone gets me.....And also I don't remember a lot of gifts I got as a kid. 
One of the oldest Christmas gifts I still have is from the Christmas I turned 6. I was so sick with the stomach flu. I spent most of Christmas on the sofa puking in to my barf bucket and too sick to open gifts. My little sister who was going to turn 2 in February opened my gifts for me and tried to make me happy and excited. I ended up in the ER that night because I was so sick. I was dehydrated had a fever of 103 and was miserable. Anyway, they were giving out teddy bears that the nuns made to all the sick kids in the hospital that night. Kids who were in the hospital for cancer, etc. I must have looked pretty terrible because some of the kids decided that I needed one too. I don't remember getting it but I remember waking up and drinking my orange juice (you had to drink a whole thing of it and keep it down before they would let me leave) and realizing I had a new teddy bear. I still have that little bear I named Safety Bear. He's the only stuffed animal I really have out anymore except at holidays when I bring out (or used to bring out, pretty sure my dogs would tear them up now!) my various stuffed animals for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love that little bear and he is one of the best gifts I ever received! :)
